Good Morning, RVA: RIP turkeys
It’s no SNOMG, but we’ve got a chance of flurries during tomorrow’s turkey-based festivities!

Good morning, RVA! It’s 46 °F and rainy. The rain and temperature both will continue to fall and fall all day long. If you’re traveling, it’s gonna be a mess. Snow is still a possibility for tomorrow, but don’t expect any accumulation.
The rest of the long weekend looks sunny and warmer with, and I kid you not, a possibility to see temperatures in the mid-60s on Monday.
Water cooler
Note: I’ll be taking the next couple of days off, and GMRVA will resume on Monday. You’ll survive! I believe in you!
Last night, a couple hundred people gathered at the John Marshall Courthouse and peacefully protested the grand jury’s non-indictment of Darren Wilson. Scott Elmquist over at Style Weekly has some photos that are worth your time.
UVA’s Board of Visitors has “adopted a spoken resolution affirming a zero-tolerance approach toward sexual assault.” From Rector George Keith Martin: “This type of conduct will not be tolerated at the University of Virginia. The status quo is no longer acceptable.” As sobering as it is to hear the University’s rector admit that a culture of rape is the status quo, it’s a good first step towards meaningful change.
As I live and breath! An opinion piece in the RTD advocating the legalization of marijuana to raise cash for the Commonwealth instead of those dinky booze tax increases.
Should you need it, here’s a long list of Richmond restaurants that are serving Thanksgiving dinner. Have a great Thanksgiving, y’all! See you back here on Monday.
Sports!

- Hokies dropped their second straight game, this one to the University of Nothern Iowa.
- Spiders travel down to North Carolina to take on NC State at 7:00 PM on ESPN3.
- Caps head to New York to face the Islanders tonight at 7:00 PM.
- Two important football things to remember this weekend: UVA and Virginia Tech battle for bowl eligibility Friday night, and the prolate-spheroid Spiders host Morgan State on Saturday in the first round of the playoffs. The latter will be televised on ESPN3!

Ferguson grand jury decision: between the lines of the St. Louis County prosecutor’s announcement
The Guardian annotates Bob McCulloch’s speech at the grand jury announcement–you know, the one where he blames social media? Lots of good and interesting background information in a pretty neat format.
St Louis County prosecutor Bob McCulloch announced on Monday that Darren Wilson would not be charged for the fatal shooting of teenager Michael Brown. In a remarkable 20-minute tirade, McCulloch lashed out at protesters, as well as the ‘insatiable’ media appetite for information. Here’s the story behind what he said.
