Good Morning RVA: Just wait until Saturday

Cold today, but things are looking up this weekend.

Good morning, RVA! It’s 30 °F, and I don’t want to freak you out, but there may be some Wintery Mix headed our way tonight. But as for today, look for the clouds to stick around, temperatures to stay below 40, and Richmonders everywhere to remain seasonally affected and grumpy. Take heart, though! If we can make it through the next couple of days, Saturday will reward us with highs in the mid-60s!

And, for the first time in a while, everybody’s got to go to school!

Yesterday VCU athletics unveiled their new visual identity. This was, I imagine, a massive undertaking. The new look rolls out across uniforms, courts, stationery, buildings, and everything else over the next year.

Speaking of, VCU takes on Richmond in both men’s and women’s basketball today. The men will travel to the Robins Center (where Coach Smart has never won a game), and the women will face the Spiders in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

The Crimean parliament has decided to hold a March 16th referendum to break away from Ukraine and join the Russian Federation. Remember, the Crimean peninsula is an isolated bit of land populated mostly ethnic Russians that operates with some autonomy from the rest of Ukraine. The current Ukrainian government believes it would be unconstitutional for the peninsula to break away and join Russia.
