Good morning, RVA! It’s 74 °F, and whoa, today, whoa, you are looking good. No blazing temperatures that feel like a triple digit death sentence and no chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Just prime, Grade-A, mid-80s wonderfulness for as far as the eye can see. You might could celebrate by spending some time after work on a patio, yes?

With 84.5% of the votes, Lamont Bagby has won the special election for the House of Delegates District 74–aka Joe Morrissey’s old seat. Keep in mind that only 2,594 votes were cast in a district of about 80,000 (just 3%), making Bagby the incumbent for the next regular-type election.

WTVR has a bit more on the new one-way to two-way conversions that are happening to streets downtown. Some folks are confused and unaware that these changes were coming, but here’s the 2009 Downtown Master Plan with the specific recommendations (PDF, page 18).

You can hire a guy to dress up in a legit Transformers costume and have him come to your birthday party. You should 100% watch the video.

  • Squirrels blanked Akron yesterday, 8-0, with seven runs in the eighth. They’ve got a 12:05 PM game today to end the series. Tickets here! Daytime baseball!
  • After winning 7-2 against the Mets on Monday, the Nats lost 2-7 last night. They’ll finish that series today at 12:35 PM.
