Good morning RVA: It’s cold, hmph.

It’s cold. Like, really, really cold.

Good morning, RVA. It’s early, it’s cold, and someone switched the direction that my toilet paper feeds.1 It’s 19 °F out, and that’s barely even a temperature! Remember this past Sunday when it was 71 °F, and we all drank iced tea on our porches? What happened to that!? Anyway, “highs” today crack the low 30s, and the sky is clear. Yippee.

Roads are fine, if you dare to venture out into this arctic wasteland.

After an extremely slow start, the Rams downed Fordham in the Bronx last night. Leading by just two at the half, VCU came out and hit 7-of-8 from 3-point range in the second half. The Ram takes on Saint Louis this Saturday who, unfortunately, had their 19-game win streak snapped by 12-15 Duquesne last night.

This week’s big food news involves two of Richmond’s staples: Perly’s and The Black Sheep. Richmond.com reports that the owner of The Black Sheep will reopen Perly’s! That sounds both incredibly delicious and incredibly stressful–I can’t wait.

Last night at the 2014 Virginia Governor’s Cup awards, Williamsburg Winery’s 2010 Adagio was named Virginia’s top wine. It’ll set you back $72 a bottle, so save it for a special occasion.

The Richmond International Film Festival continues this weekend. 60 films from 20 countries–can’t beat that. Tickets are just $10 for an individual screening or $35 for a day pass.

In self-promotional news, I’ll be at TILTED RVA this Saturday talking about productivity, workflows, and–most likely–yammering on about Evernote for as long as anyone will listen. Tickets are $40 and still available.

  1. Over is the only correct answer, don’t bring that under business in to my house!

  1. I used to be in your camp, but having kids who don’t know how to ration TP (or enjoy idly spinning things without regard to consequence) converted me to the underhang side. I will even go so far as to change the rolls that have been installed in my own house “incorrectly”. The unexpected changes that parenthood brings… I never in a million years thought I would change my mind about the correct way to hang toilet paper.
