Good Morning, RVA: Damn cold

I thought we were done with wearing socks.

Good morning, RVA! It’s 33 °F–a full thirty degrees colder than it was 24 hours ago. Temperatures will continue to drop until 9:00 AM when they bottom out around 30 °F. As you can imagine, we’re under a freeze warning, so I hope you brought in your plants.

Things will start to heat back up tomorrow, but it’ll take until Saturday for sockless temperatures to return.

Today’s the seventh anniversary of the shootings at Virginia Tech. There’s a simple memorial service at the Captiol downtown today, and, if you can, We are Virginia Tech.

The folks behind the 2015 UCI Road World Championships sent out road closing and parking restrictions for this May’s Collegiate Nationals, which they’re using to fine tune the logistics behind closing most of a city for a bicycle race. Many streets will close to traffic and parking Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th. If you live in the Bottom, you may want to stay with a friend on Sunday…
