Good morning, RVA: A really fabulous weekend

Good morning, RVA! It’s 56 °F, and today, much like Judd Nelson’s character in The Breakfast Club, we’re looking at highs in the 80s. The happy hour forecast for this afternoon is: crowded.

As for this weekend, tomorrow morning brings a slight chance of showers but not enough to interfere with your Saturday plans, and on Sunday, the good-weather times continue to roll. It really should be a fabulous weekend.

Water cooler

Early this morning, a truck overturned on I-295 northbound near Cold Harbor Road carrying 76,000 lbs. of oranges. That means that someone needs to pick up 23,560 oranges before the road reopens. So, yeah, expect delays.

Stephen Colbert will take over David Letterman’s spot on The Late Show. As for his tone heading into late-night TV: “I won’t be doing the new show in character, so we’ll all get to find out how much of him was me. I’m looking forward to it.”

Amazon announced that it will buy ComiXology, the online comic book retailer. If you want to buy comics online and read them on your iPad, ComiXology is pretty much your only option (for now).
