GlobeHopper Coffeehouse & Lounge celebrating six-year anniversary this Thursday
Local musician Paul Watson will be performing at the anniversary party.
During tough economic times, it’s always heartening to hear of a local business celebrating another successful year.
Enter GlobeHopper Coffeehouse & Lounge, an independently-owned coffeeshop located in Shockoe Bottom that will be celebrating their sixth anniversary this Thursday, February 27.
Founded in early 2008 by co-owners Erin Helland and Jenn Crenshaw, GlobeHopper has been serving up high-quality French Press coffee, fresh baked goods and community spirit to citizens of the East End for the past six years.
And luckily for regulars, patrons, and supporters, GlobeHopper won’t just be silently celebrating.
Instead, they’ll be hosting an anniversary party featuring a CD release and live performance by hometown musician and composer Paul Watson from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the shop, located at 2100 East Main Street. Local musicians F. A. Blasco and Martin McCavitt will be performing alongside Watson.
General Manager Kimmy Certa, who has managed GlobeHopper for the past five and-a-half years, is looking forward to the anniversary festivities.
“We’re very lucky,” Certa said. “While many businesses in our area have come and gone, we have survived and thrived. This is due in no small part to our talented staff, dedicated customers and supportive community. Getting to this point has been a team effort, and I can’t wait to celebrate it!”
