Fires set on Seminary, seperate incident temporarily shuts down Little House Green Grocery

Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity.

The map above shows approximately where each incident occurred.

On Monday night around 10:30 PM a resident reported that two recycle bins (4500 block of East Seminary) were set on fire by an unknown person. The residents were able to put the fire out with no damage other than the recycle bin but stated that the responding firefighters said that there was another incident on the 4800 block of West Seminary.

Early this morning Little House Green Grocery Tweeted out this message.

Neither the police nor the RFD have alerted us to a connection between these events but folk will definitely want to keep an eye out and call 911 if you see any suspicious activity.

  1. Not sure why this map is incomplete, but: those ACTUALLY aren’t the only acts of arson recently in the neighborhood. On April 17, a fire was deliberately started in the alley of the 1400 block of Bellevue Ave, resulting in damage to an outbuilding, which was charred in places. We were told at the time that this was the 4th deliberately-set fire in the area. It goes without saying that only a HUGELY PATHETIC LOSER would do such a thing.

  2. Clarification: were told that the one in the alley of the 1400 block of Bellevue was the *4th set fire THAT week.* It was spring break week for many area schools, so our thought at the time was that the LOSER (or LOSERS) were perhaps high school students. I hope the LOSER(S) are caught soon, and made to pay for all the damages they have caused. And let’s all keep in mind that arson, along with torturing animals and bedwetting, have often tended to foreshadow even more horrible actions. I would hope security cameras would begin to shed light on the identity of the aforementioned LOSER(S).
