Fatal accident on Janhke Tuesday night

Incident occurred around 8:00 PM

As of this morning around 8:00 AM police tape still littered the scene.

Details from RTD.

A man died tonight in a single-vehicle crash in South Richmond after losing control of his Jeep, crashing into a pole and being ejected, according to Richmond police Capt. Yvonne Crowder.

The crash happened at about 8 p.m. on Jahnke Road when the westbound Jeep traveled across eastbound lanes and hit a pole, before continuing onto a front yard and being stopped by a tree, Crowder said. The driver, whose name has not been released because next of kin has not been notified, was pronounced dead on the scene.

A second vehicle crashed into a ditch, apparently after swerving to avoid the Jeep, but that driver was not injured, Crowder said.
