East End Armed Robber Sought

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify a person of interest in the attached photos in connection with two crimes involving firearms in the city’s East End.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the 2200 block of East Broad Street, an unknown male robbed two women at gunpoint before fleeing the scene in a silver, four-door sedan. The suspect had a white sweater wrapped around his hand and indicated he had a gun.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 in the 2200 block of East Cary Street, an unknown male brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot a man who was walking down the street. The suspect had a white piece of clothing wrapped around his hand and a white shirt wrapped around his face.

Based on incident details and the suspect’s description as a black male with a box-style haircut, detectives believe it was the same person.

Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call First Precinct Detective Brian Taylor at (804) 646-0689 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
