Downtown business owners calling for meeting to discuss UCI Road World Championships

“We need to know how the city and race organizers will work with businesses so they are able to stay open, accept and make deliveries, and how staff will be able to get to their jobs.”

Downtown business owners are understandably concerned about how the Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships will impact their business. They’re requesting a meeting with various parties to discuss the details of the race and expected impact.

This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16th at 4:30 PM at the Richmond Public Library, 101 E. Franklin St.

Because we need to be able to keep our businesses open and operating during the bike race, even when access to the downtown business district is severely limited

We’ve requested a meeting with race organizers and police to discuss the details and logistics of how business will be impacted during the UCI bike race (Saturday, September 19 – Sunday, September 27).

We need to know how the city and race organizers will work with businesses so they are able to stay open, accept and make deliveries, and how staff will be able to get to their jobs.

Please join us for this important meeting! Share this information with other downtown businesses!

RSVP to UCIdowntownmerchants@gmail.com by Thursday, June 11th if you plan to attend.

We will contact you by email to let you know the location of the meeting once we have a count of attendees.
