CSX employee killed by moving train off Westwood Avenue

Henrico Police are investigating the accident with the help of railroad police, OSHA, and the NTSA.

Henrico Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a CSX railroad employee that took place in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Just before 3:00 AM, police responded to the 2100 block of Westwood Avenue in the CSX Acca Yard for reports of an industrial accident.

Upon arrival, authorities found an adult male was struck by a train while at work and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Henrico County Police Department, CSX Railroad Police, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the National Transportation Safety Board.

At the victim’s identification is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
