Coroner confirms cause of death for GWAR guitarist
Cory Smoot, guitarist for the metal band GWAR, was found dead on the band’s tour bus on November 3rd. He was commonly known as known as Flattus Maximus. A North Dakota Coronoer, William Masselo, MD has released findings on the autoposy that he performed on the deceased GWAR member.
Cory Smoot, guitarist for the metal band GWAR, was found dead on the band’s tour bus on November 3rd. He was commonly known as known as Flattus Maximus. A North Dakota Coronoer, William Masselo, MD has released findings on the autoposy that he performed on the deceased GWAR member:
“I have determined that Cory died from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease.”
A Smoot Family Foundation has been set up by members of GWAR and Metal Blade Records to raise funds for Cory’s wife, Jaime, and their unborn child. On January 7, 2012, The Canal Club will host a record release show for Cory’s solo album, recorded prior to his untimely death. The album will be released early next year, with all proceeds going to the Smoot Family Fund. Smoot was 34.
