Cidermaking workshops this fall

Learn to make cider in your home.

Blue Bee Cider is partnering with Original Gravity Homebrew Supplies to host two home cidermaking workshops this fall at its location in Old Manchester, 212 W. 6th Street, RVA 23224.

One workshop is on Oct. 29 from 6:30-8p.m. and the other on Nov. 22 from 10:30 a.m.-noon.

Participants will learn about evaluating juice, making additions before fermentation, monitoring progress during fermentation and options for customizing your cider before bottling.

Workshop fee of $47 includes: one gallon of raw juice, carboy with airlock, yeast, yeast nutrient, lab flask, funnel and the latest edition of Ben Watson’s Cider, Hard & Sweet: History, Traditions & Making Your Own. The picture above shows one of last year’s workshops.

Normally I wouldn’t post about an event this far out but past cidermaking workshops have been sold out so if you want to learn this skill register online ASAP.  Seating is limited. One registration per person.
