Church Hill Tunnel Collapse film seeks crowd funding

A Richmond native wants to tell the story of one of Church Hill’s most notable tragedies.

Local filmmaker Ryan Pace wants to document the story of the Church Hill Tunnel Collapse. He’s created an Indiegogo campaign to raise $5,000 for the film.

Here’s the campaign video for the documentary:

The tunnel collapse occurred in 1925, when a 150-foot section of the Church Hill Tunnel collapsed, trapping six men. In the days following the collapse, roughly 75,000 people gathered at the site hoping the men would be recovered. Of the six men known to be trapped, only four bodies were recovered.
