Celebrate Chesterfield Lectures Scheduled For April
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia, will host two lectures in April as part of the Celebrate Chesterfield Spring Lecture Series. Both lectures are free to attend, but reservations are encouraged. To reserve a seat, call (804) 796-7003. The Second Battle of Drewry’s Bluff Saturday, April 11, 11 a.m.-noon Central Library Meeting Room, 9501 Lori Road Ed Sanders, a ranger with Richmond National Battlefield Park, will speak about the pivotal battle of Drewry’s Bluff and the importance of this stronghold to the Confederates. The Bermuda Hundred Campaign Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m.-noon Central Library Meeting Room Scott Williams, a member of the Chesterfield Historical Society, and George Fickett, a Bermuda Hundred historian, will discuss the impact that this campaign’s intense action and casualties had the county’s residents.
