Carytown also loves Girl Scouts

Following Kroger’s lead, a few Carytown merchants have welcomed the displaced cookie-peddlers to set up shop in front of their, uh, shops.

Following Kroger’s lead, a few Carytown merchants have welcomed the displaced cookie-peddlers to set up shop in front of their, uh, shops.

Beginning this Saturday, March 6 and every Saturday in March from 10am to 6pm, you can find them at It’s Hip to Be Round, Pink, and Double T’s.

With this weekend’s forecast, Carytown is sure to be packed. Those girls are gonna make BANK.

The Kroger on Cary has a store specific policy that does not allow solicitations in front of their store. I called for my troop after we were bumped from Ukrops in Feb. I explained everything to the manager and he kindly said not in front of our store. The other Krogers have allowed Girl Scouts to sell in front of the store for years. But the as the manager at the Cary location informed me, it’s a store by store policy.

I would love to see a parody of dealers competing for corners in Baltimore from The Wire but using Girl Scouts in Carytown. It’s all about the corners in this game.
