Camp Kesem, a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Camp Kesem at Virginia Commonwealth University is pleased to host the Cancer SuCKs bar crawl.

In the summer of 2015, over 5,000 children attended free summer camps during over 70 weeklong sessions of Camp Kesem held at fun and exciting sites from coast-to-coast. Dedicated students from Virginia Commonwealth University organize Camp Kesem locally in Richmond. This summer, Camp Kesem at Virginia Commonwealth University will host 40 campers at Brethren Woods Camp & Retreat in Keezletown, Virginia.

Camp Kesem at Virginia Commonwealth University is hosting the Cancer SuCKs bar crawl in Richmond at 2PM  Sticky Rice (2232 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220), 3PM  Social 52 (2619 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220), 4PM  3 Monkey’s (2525 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220), 4PM  Star Lite (2600 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220), and 5PM  Continental Divide (2501 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220) on April 30th, 2016, 2-5pm. The first 100% of proceeds will go to the bars then Camp Kesem will receive 90% to help raise money towards their goal of $40,000 in hopes of serving 40 children in the Richmond area for summer 2016.

Camp Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. A program of Kesem, Camp Kesem operates over 70 free summer camps in 33 states for children ages 6 to 16 who have been touched by a parent’s cancer. This camping experience has a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. In 2015, Camp Kesem served over 5,000 children coast-to-coast – all funded by generous donations from individuals and corporate support.
