Richmond’s annual Christmas Blessing of the Animals takes place Friday, December 12, noon, at the Morgan Fountain in Shockoe Slip.
This special event recognizes working and companion animals that make all of our lives a little bit better. The Blessing is organized by the Friends of the Richmond Mounted Squad who will be present and the mounts will appreciate any apple and carrot treats that folks might bring down.
Music will be performed by Susan Greenbaum and the blessing performed by Reverend Karen Thompson. Participants are asked to bring donation of pet food which will be donated to the Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation.
