Bike tour Church Hill with Richmond Rides

Get a little exercise, a little history, and a little snacking.

Catherine Illian has started Richmond’s first bike tour company, Richmond Rides which offers sightseeing bike tours of Church Hill. Each tour includes visits to local eateries to sample a taste of what the Hill has to offer. In March tours are Saturdays 2-4 PM and in April they’re expanding and offering tours daily 2-4 PM.

Currently there are two tours that cover Church Hill. The first is their “Signature Tour” for $45 is two hours and includes two snack stops.

On this tour of historic Church Hill, you will learn about the neighborhood where Richmond was founded through the lives of its most memorable residents. As you ride, you will also experience some of Richmond’s delicious eats and amazing views of this historic city. Some of the characters you discover along the way include native americans, Patrick Henry and America’s first black governor along with several other heroes who shared this historic ground.

The second option is the “Historic Tour” for $59 which is three and half hours, includes two snack stops and a light lunch.

Our most historically dense tour, focusing on the rich and intricate history of the Church Hill neighborhood.
