6 opportunities to add your voice to the Boulevard/Diamond development cacophony

It’s a chance for armchair urban planners to shine.

Public input is good, but I have a feeling that emotions will run a little hot in some of these meetings.

From the City:

The City will soon begin public engagement sessions to explore possibilities for developing and using the City’s land in the Boulevard area. For several years, the City has been systematically moving public facilities away from the site in order to prepare it for development. The next step is to engage public input on how the site should best be used for the taxpayers of Richmond. Public input sessions are recommended by Richmond City Council Resolution No. 2015-R65-70.

The dates, times, and locations of the public input sessions are as follows:

  • January 19, 6:00 PM – Department of Motor Vehicles (2300 West Broad St.)
  • January 20, 6:00 PM – Southside Community Center (4100 Hull Street)
  • January 26, 12:00 PM – Huguenot High School (7945 Forest Hill Ave.)
  • January 26, 6:00 PM – Thomas Jefferson High School (4100 W. Grace St.)
  • February 4, 9:00 AM – Main Branch Public Library (101 E. Franklin St.)
  • February 4, 6:00 PM – Martin Luther King Middle School (1000 Mosby St.)
