The White Horse closing on Monday

The White Horse Tavern is done but plans are already afoot for a new eating establishment.

Update #1 — March 11, 2016; 9:05 AM

From Facebook:

Our new official closing day is Monday. Come by for happy hour tonight 4 til 7, and expect tons of beer specials starting tomorrow. Newly tapped Sixpoint Resin.

Although this is sad news, the good news is that they have a bunch of beer they need to get rid of and are offering special rates for you to drink it all up. A final cheers for a pub whose life was entirely too short.

From Whitehorse Tavern Facebook:

As some of you may already know, the White Horse will be closing its doors later this month. This isn’t easy for us to do, but it’s our only option moving forward.

We’d like to extend a huge amount of gratitude to the Forest Hill and Westover Hills neighborhoods. Thank you for your support over these past couple months. There are some of you who we will miss dearly.

Expect our final day to be sometime between the 15th and the 21st.

As a big fan of the orginal Commercial Taphouse I’m very bummed to hear this news. I’ll take some solace in the news that Style Weekly has about Kendra Feather owner of Richmond heavyweights Roosevelt, Garnett’s Café and Ipanema Café stepping in and working with Talley on something new.
