Style Weekly dines at Selba

Would you care for some Jazz with your entrée‎?

Ever since opening Selba (2416 W. Cary Street) has been the go-to spot in Richmond for live jazz and dining. We discussed it in detail previously on RVANews and the music gets a fair amount attention in this review on Style Weekly: Sonic Throwback.

I’m not a “jazz” kind of guy so it’s the food I’m more interested and it looks like Selba is definitely singing my song.

Wisely, it has continued to fine tune during the past few years, including more gluten-free options than ever. Jazzing up the quinoa cakes ($14) is SausageCraft chorizo and warm Mexican spices, but it’s the cilantro crème fraîche and corn relish that soar. Cumin-seared jumbo diver scallops ($11) over red pepper coulis and basil oil are adorned by little pillows of cooked apples; the entree version ($25) comes with coconut fried rice and Thai shrimp cream sauce.
