Style Weekly dines at Rapp Session
If raw bars are your thing, this is your place.
I never received, Full Foodie Accreditation because I failed the raw bar portion of the test. To me it oysters seem like something eaten on a dare and the texture always throws me off.
I’m also aware that their are legions of people that are more than happy to take my place at the bar and slurp down oysters in a variety of ways. This year Rapp Session opened up and now folks have another great option for oysters and there are enough other options to keep heretics like myself content.
If you go for an assortment, they’re arranged from sweet to briny on a bed of crushed ice ($13.50 for six). Maybe you drizzle yours with the puckering mignonette, perhaps you wake them up with lemon or you dunk them in cocktail sauce. Or possibly you just slurp them undressed as they slide easily from the half shell to stomach. Doesn’t matter. These are the best bivalves around. Period.
