Strawberry Street Vineyard now closed

Closing the doors after 30 years in business.

I didn’t hear about this until reading it on Richmond BizSense.com this morning.

After more than 30 years in business, local wine shop Strawberry Street Vineyard closed its doors last week.

The store at 407 Strawberry St. held its final day of business on April 26, owner Emily Jones said.

“It was just so many factors,” Jones said.

Jones and her mother bought the wine shop in 2011 from Henry Reidy. Reidy had owned the business since 1999, when he bought it from Richard Carew.

Aww – this is so sad. We started going there when Henry owned the place. Nice place to get good wine that wasn’t too pricey. Too bad.
