RTD dines at Bacchus
Inconsistency is a trend for the reviewer.
Bacchus recently turned 15 and it’s not reflecting the storied past of the Fan pioneer restaurant.
During my first visit on a slow weeknight, every course was on-point food-wise — the chef-owner was in the open kitchen mere feet from our table — but the service was so shockingly bad I was compelled to address the bigger issue of poor service citywide in an open letter to Richmond’s waitstaffs.
The full review describes another meal as well, where once again inconsistency is the main dish.

Bacchus held up to a fine dining standard? Really? It’s Italian comfort food.
