Richmond.com reporting Selba closing for the summer
After 3 years the Fan restaurant is closing for the summer after this weekend.
Richmond.com has the somewhat ominous news about Selba closing for the summer.
Subscribers to Selba Restaurant’s text alert system got a message from the restaurant Wednesday night alerting them that the restaurant would be closing after this weekend for the summer.
According to a reader, the text read:
“Selba- Would like to thank you,for supporting us over the last 3 years . As of May 19th we be closing for the Summer. Enjoy your Summer”
Co-owner Todd Boyd confirmed the closing,

Ummm…Jimmy Snead did not have his hands in this place. Perhaps you’re thinking on the one down the street he opened with his daughter?
Maybe you’re thinking of Jimmy Sneed’s Blowtoad? I think that closed well over a year ago. Selba is one of Alan DelForn’s places. Unfortunately he kept the bro bar open and closed the classy place.
My mistake. I’m thinking of Fresca on Addison. (not very popular either.) Yes, Jimmy Snead has led the demise of the Frog and the Redneck, the kitchen at the Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing, and Blowtoad. He’s also, an all-around terrible human being. But we digress…
I’ve been in Fresca’s a few times, and the people there appeared to be good people. I don’t know which ones were Sneeds and which weren’t, but I had an overall positive impression. The food wasn’t bad at all. Ive had a salad, one of the pizzas, and a curry. These are all vegetarian and healthy food, and the fact that I actually liked them a little bit impressed me.
