Harvest Grocery adding a butchery

They won’t be fully operational until the New Year but you get a chance to sample this weekend.

Not much to report other than work as begun and this amazing picture of a knife holster.

Opening late today (3pm) to make room for the @stockprovisions crew. They'll be back here grilling on the 13th and slingin' their provisions full-time starting January 10th!

Good news for the carnivores in the neighborhood. Starting January 10th, JM Stock Provisions will begin operating a 6’-10’ butchery case out of Harvest Grocery and Supply. This won’t be just your ordinary meat offerings, this will be local (Charlottesville), pasture-raised, whole animal butchery by JM Stock Provisions.

As someone who works nearby I’m looking forward to another lunch option.

JM Stock Provisions will operate the butchery case under their own brand. The case will feature a selection of beef, pork, and chicken cuts in addition to JM’s house-made sausages and charcuterie. Many items will be available cut-to-order. Bone broth as well as some other specialty items will be featured in our freezer. JM will accept special orders and with their addition, we will begin offering some sandwiches and other quick lunch options.

We are excited to get started, so we are having a few events before the New Year. Our first one is this coming Saturday, November 8th. The guys from JM will be grilling outside the store and Tracy Love from Blenheim Vineyards will be doing a wine tasting. We will have another, similar event on December 13th before launching the case in January.

HOMEMADE SAUSAGES
Made by hand in house using our meats and love. We currently have a pretty brief repertoire, about 20 or so varieties. Look out for an ever changing menu of fresh sausage in the case, and a wide range of both the classic and quirky in our freezer section. New recipes added damn near weekly.
