Food trucks, glorious food trucks at Woodland Heights Baptist UPDATE: Cancelled

Doing dishes sucks let’s all go to the food trucks.

Update #1 — July 22, 2016; 12:55 PM

I feel bad for someone that is trying to do something positive for the community and he keeps being let down by local businesses. The frustration he is feeling is very real.

Neighbors–
Sorry to do this, but two trucks cancelled as of yesterday, and no replacements can be found. So, we will have to cancel tonight’s Food Truck Court at Woodland Heights Baptist Church. I am as mystified as some of you as to the business practices of some of our vendors. :-(

We have not given up on the season at this point, but are working to find a better situation. Keep in mind that the WH Artists in Residence Show & Sale is still on for August 12–we have 14 vendors at this point and are hoping for a few more. I just hope we have a good set of Food Trucks to go with it.

Take care.

This week’s Food Truck Forecast is hot and humid, with a miniscule chance of rain…and a high probability of jerk chicken, gourmet sandwiches, and fusion takos. It should be a great night at Woodland Heights Baptist Church’s parking lot (611 W. 31st St.) from 5:30-8:00. Come and join the fun!

The scheduled trucks are:

  • Dank Eats—Our focus is funky fresh fusion pitas like our jerk chicken shwarma with curry sweet potato fries, grilled pineapple, and cilantro lime aioli or our cheesesteak pita with wasabi aioli.
  • Stuffed Bunz— Chef prepared sandwiches and hand-cut fries to fill yer belly.
  • Boka Tako Truck —Asian-Mexican-American fusion takos with French technique and seasonal menus.

…and for dessert…

  • DeRochennet Delights—“Luscious handmade chocolates from a master Chocolatier” http://www.derochonnetdelights.com/

Remember that in three weeks, on August 12, the Woodland Heights Artists in Residences Arts & Crafts Show and Sale will run alongside the Food Trucks in the church parking lot. More info to come—but mark you calendar for the chance to see and purchase the work of some great local artists. The sale will be from 6:00-8:00.
