Update: Food trucks cancelled – Food from trucks on a Friday, fabulous

Bribes have been paid and the storm clouds will stay away.

Update #1 — June 10, 2016; 2:57 PM

Friends–
For reasons beyond our control, and frankly beyond our comprehension, the Food Truck vendors have decided to cancel tonight’s event. I cannot tell you how sorry we at the church are about this, and for the poor start to this season’s Food Truck Court.

We will be in conversations with the Food Truck folks, and will be evaluating the viability of the events, moving forward.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the Court, and for your patience in working through the recent rain-outs and other cancellations. I hope that we can obtain a guarantee of more reasonable vendor support for the future.

Again, “Sorry” to those who were planning to attend. Many at the church were looking forward to joining with our neighbors tonight. :-(

After last week’s (eventual but substantial) rain, it looks like a much more promising evening in store this Friday night (6/10) for the Food Truck Court at Woodland Heights Baptist Church (611 W. 31st St.) in the church parking lot from 5:30 to 8:30. Come by for some great food and some even better conversations with your neighbors and friends both old and new. Gyros, Paninis, Sliders, and Mac-n-Cheese, capped off with some delicious chocolate. Yum!!

The scheduled trucks this week are:

  • Opa — Gyros, Pitas, Salads, Baklava, always fresh, cooked on site, and served fast.
  • Sammich — Paninis, various sides, and house-made ice cream.
  • Slideways Mobile Bistro — Serving up our signature gourmet sliders and fresh hand-cut fries to RVA.
  • Return of the Mac—Noodles, cheeses, proteins, veggies, and sides: “A dance party for your taste buds.”

…and for dessert…

Hope to see you there.

Remember the WHBC Community survey–5 minutes to help the church plan for our future in Woodland Heights. Here is the link to the survey: http://goo.gl/forms/apZ6AyfqU9 . Paper copies will be available at the Food Truck Court as well.
