Blanchard’s coffee comes to DC, Maryland in new distribution deal

The local roaster will have A LOT MORE of its coffee traveling on I-95 and I-64.

Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. announced this week that it’s coffee will soon be carried in Charlottesville, Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland in select Martin’s, Giant, and Whole Foods stores.

Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. has partnered with Ahold USA (Martin’s Food/Giant Food) Kroger and Whole Foods Markets throughout Virginia, DC and Maryland to bring local Virginia craft roasted coffee to select locations.

“With an ever growing appreciation of the craft of brewing excellent coffee in independent cafes and restaurants throughout the US, people are beginning to expect something better when they pick up coffee beans to brew at home. Grocery markets recognize the demand for better, fresher, more local coffees to meet the expanding palates of their customers because stale, mass-produced coffees simply won’t cut it with more discerning shoppers – that’s where we come in,” says Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. Director of Marketing, Stephen Robertson.

“A great, fresh roasted cup of coffee is a small luxury that just about anyone can afford, and we hope to share our passion for great coffee with as many people as possible. That’s why we’re so happy to have the opportunity to work with Giant Foods, Kroger and Whole Foods in the Charlottesville area,” Robertson continues.

In Martin’s Food, Giant Food and Kroger locations, Blanchard’s has installed their own floor display cabinets with a variety of their most popular roasts on or near the coffee isle or in the Natural Foods section. Whole Foods stocks Blanchard’s Coffee in the coffee section reserved for independent roasters.

Additionally, Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. partners with a number of other retailers and brewers throughout Virginia and the Central East Coast, including Waveriders Café in Nags Head, NC, Market Street Market in Charlottesville, VA, Dawson’s Market in Rockville, MD and Relay Foods, a Charlottesville, VA based retailer serving customers from Virginia to Pennsylvania.
