15th Annual Brunswick Stew Festival

The Brunswick Stew Festival is on Saturday at the 17th Street Farmers’ Market.

The purists will say that it’s not Brunswick Stew if there isn’t squirrel, opossum or rabbit simmering away. I’m pretty sure that all the vendors at the 15th Annual Brunswick Stew Festival are sticking with the more common chicken, pork, and beef. Whatever is in the giant pot of simmering delights is sure to taste good and you’ll have a chance to try a bunch.

There will be 15 different stews from 12 stewmasters from across the region at the 17th Street Farmers’ Market offering samples for only $1 each. There will be beer Anheuser-Busch (guess they’re saving all the good stuff for Sunday) and music by Harley Boone followed by The Slack Family Bluegrass Band. Also an expanded craft and fresh food marketplace featuring local art, clothing, jewelry, gourmet snacks and more.
