“As we all seek different ways to help our planet, changes will and have been getting made. Sometimes tradition is harder to change than our daily habits, but the sooner we make a tradition of being green the better for generations after us. Hope this brings to light that there are solutions that can be made without necessarily sacrificing the celebration.”

Why can’t we just have a fourth of July celebration without this nonsense. First off if we are going to believe the planet is doomed I don’t think an annual firework display is going to do it. Second when you go to a celebration look at all the junk the people bring with them buy and throw away. Eliminate this mess first, people are lazy they bring and buy too much “disposable stuff”. I’m tired of hearing all of this recycle green garbage. The way to be “green” is to REUSE not throw away for someone else to “Recycle”. Half the people who proclaim to be green buy the newest fanciest doodad throwing away the previous “Green” thing for the newest. How about you stick with what you have, be happy and re-use some stuff. Let’s keep the fireworks the way they are until we can get a few other things straight. Oh and thanks for the list RVANews it’s helpful.

Such a bummer that the fireworks over the James started more than 10 minutes ahead of schedule, causing many people to miss out on them altogether while looking for parking. The sun wasn’t even completely set when the first group went off. Poorly executed!

Stop with the green crap, why should we limit celebrating our liberty that everyone has forgotten the meaning when China and India are doing more damage to the plant then the USA has in the past 50 yrs and who is doing what to stop it, the American tax payer!! This is the problem and the reason the country is failing, look at the big picture!!!
