What you’re going to do for Valentine’s Day

The guys at Ledbury got together, exchanged compliments about how sharp each other looked, and came up with things for all of us to do on the most pressure-filled night of the year.

We’ve come up with a bunch of ideas to help you with the gift-giving aspect, but now, how to spend the actual day?

Who knows how to be charming gents more than the guys at Ledbury. With their perfect collars and tailored fits, we thought they were just the fellas to recommend a satisfyingly well-made Valentine’s Day itinerary.

Spruce up

Sharpen up your own self before the Big Day, by stopping by Shockoe Atelier for a pair of just-right jeans, High Point Barbershop & Shave Parlor for pampering, and, of course, Ledbury itself for a shirt (or blazer or sweater) that simply cannot be beat. At the end of this fun movie “treat yoself” montage, your significant other will be all “OMG let’s stay IN tonight, handsome.” And, more importantly, you’ll feel good inside and out, which may be the true cause of the glow he/she sees on your freshly spruced face.

Killer brunch

It’s so rare to have the full Valentine’s Day experience on a weekend, AND you get to avoid the annoying flower-deliveries-at-the-office cliche. Ledbury bros enjoy a leisurely brunch at Perly’s, where bagels and specialty sodas await. Can Can’s brunch is a continental experience for not that many American dollars (and we love any place that serves brunch on Saturdays), and Northsiders swear by The Mill for their big Southern affairs.

Especially killer dinner

There are plenty of Valentine’s Day menus, as this roundup from the RTD catalogues for your benefit, and you should certainly attempt to get reservations if that’s your bag. Ledbury suggests its favorite romantic standbys who aren’t on the list: Metzger (for those who love meat and cocktails), Stella’s (for those who love Greek food, cocktails, and wine), and Rappahannock (for those who love seafood and Prosecco on tap). All of the above specialize in a setting so sultry and special that even spilling delicious food on your brand new jeans won’t bother you. Order another glass of wine, it’s Valentine’s Day, and your pants are no longer as important as they were before dinner.

After-dinner gift exchange

Ledburians swear by Drift Riot jewelry, handmade in a little city known as Richmond, Virginia. Fasten a delicate wishbone or tusk pendant around a neck and then dot a little Na Nin handmade fragrance on that same neck. Now all you need is a fireplace, some boxed wine, and some smooth jazz, and you are in business. The business of getting down to business.

Thanks, Ledbury, for taking the time to plan our Valentine’s Day while outfitting Richmond’s dudes with the best of shirts every other day of the year!
