Weather! One more warm day; cooling off for the weekend
After a toasty Wednesday, we’re looking at some cooler temperatures for the weekend. Will we stay dry for the Easter Parade?

An area of low pressure hanging out over the mid-Atlantic is the primary weathermaker around here for the next couple days. Eastern Virginia is sitting firmly in the warm sector today. A cold front coming through tonight will bring a quick end to the warm weather, cooling things off for the remainder of the week into the weekend.
Wednesday: Quite the toasty day today, as southwest winds help send temperatures into the low 80s. Look for partly cloudy skies through most of the day, increasing in the afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed southeastern and central VA under a slight risk for severe weather today. Widespread thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the advancing cold front this afternoon, and are capable of producing heavy downpours, lightning, hail, and strong, damaging winds. The thunderstorm threat begins to diminish after sunset, and temperature dip into the upper 40s overnight.
Thursday: Quite a bit cooler behind the cold front, with highs only near 60 under clearing skies. Lows Thursday night will dip into the low 40s.
Friday: More of the same, but with a few more clouds as another low swings off to the south. Highs in the low 60s, lows in the low 40s.
Decent weather will continue into the weekend, with some slight warming, as temperatures climb into the mid and upper 60s over the weekend, making a run at 70 on Sunday and Monday. Beyond today, there’s not a single sign of any precip through early next week. If nothing else, this spells good weather for the Easter Parade!
