Weather! Not much change over the next few days
Ready for more of what we got this weekend? I hope so, because its sticking around for a few more days.
Summer is trying to hang on with a few fingers and it’s going to stick around through the next few days.
We’re stuck in a bit of a confused pattern, as a dissipating stationary front just off the coast and a strong area of low pressure near the Great Lakes are cut off from the jet stream, and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. In the meantime, we get the last gasps of summer.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all look pretty similar. Highs in the low 80s under partly cloudy skies, and lows in the upper 60s. Dewpoints will continue to run high for the early part of the week, keeping conditions quite muggy, and there will be opportunities for patchy fog to develop overnight each night, especially as the winds die down. There’s a chance of some rain showers every day for the next three days, and there could be some rumbles of thunder along with them, especially if we can get ample afternoon sun and heat things up a bit.
Looking ahead, the end of the week is when the pattern finally starts to shift. A strong cold front sweeps through on Thursday and Friday as the cut-off low finally starts to link back up with the jet stream and move out of the area. There’s a cool Canadian air mass behind the front, however, and we could see overnight lows down in the 40s once it passes. The good news, though, is that we’ll get the sun back as well. In the meantime, however, we’re stuck with warm and muggy.
