Weather! More spring-like weather this week

After last week’s snow and severe weather, we’re greeted with much milder conditions to start this week.

What a crazy week we had last week.

We started off with snow, ended with thunderstorms, and even had a tornado in Mathews County.

While not perfect, this week should prove to be slightly less scattered. High pressure is set up across the southeast to start the week, funneling in warm air ahead of a frontal boundary set to swing through Virginia midweek. I can say with relatively high confidence that there’s no snow in the picture this week.

Monday: Temperatures will climb into the mid 60s this afternoon under partly to mostly sunny skies. We’re already well into the 50s is morning, and while we may see some clouds pop up this afternoon, sun will still be the story of the day. Temps dip into the mid 30s tonight.

Tuesday: It’s going to be another day of mostly sunny skies, with some increasing clouds late. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, with highs only in the mid 50s. Clouds continue to build in Tuesday night as a warm front approaches, tagged to a low moving through the midwest. Temperatures again dip into the mid 30s Tuesday night.

Wednesday: The warm front moves through Wednesday morning, triggering showers beginning around sunrise and lasting on and off through most of the day. Highs reach into the upper 50s and only cool to around 50 overnight.

The system is clear of Virginia by Thursday morning, and high temperatures remain in the upper 50s and 60s through the weekend. Our next chance for some rain after Wednesday comes later Friday and into Saturday morning.
