Weather! Fantastic first half of the week

We kick off this week with warm temperatures and plenty of sun. Who can complain about this forecast?

I’m always thankful for an easy forecast.

There aren’t ever really many of them – even an extended period of clear skies and warm temperatures becomes difficult after a few days. There are times when I begin to get lost in an internal existential debate about how many different ways I can say “clear and warm” before I contemplate some sort of spontaneous action involving launching myself in a trebuchet.

I digress. This is still a relatively easy forecast for the next couple days.

An area of high pressure is hanging out around the Virginia coast for the next couple days, keeping skies clear to partly cloudy through Wednesday. High temperatures will increase steadily over the next couple days, going from 65 on Monday to 70 by Wednesday under strong sunshine. Overnight lows also increase, in the upper 30s overnight tonight and the upper 40s by Tuesday night.

Temperatures begin to drop Wednesday evening as our next cold front starts to swing through. There’s been some debate between the model runs about how much precip we’ll see out of this system, but plan on some showers possible beginning Thursday and into Friday morning. Temperatures will dip down a bit after the front swings through, with high pressure returning and highs only in the 50s by this weekend.

Enjoy this week; it’s going to be pretty great.
