Weather! Cloudy, cool start to the week
Visible satellite imagery shows a lot of lingering cloudiness this morning, which will continue through the rest of Monday. Temperatures will only climb into the low 60s this afternoon, before dropping into the mid 40s overnight.
A cold, northern wind is blowing this morning, and temperatures have dropped from 57 at 9pm Sunday night to just 53 as of 10am Monday morning. Welcome to fall, folks.
The tropics are quiet at the moment; there are two areas of interest being monitored, but neither are expected to develop imminently.
Most of the rain has tapered off, and the chances for more will continue to diminish as an area of low pressure slowly wanders north along the Atlantic seaboard. Temperatures will only climb into the low 60s this afternoon, before dropping into the mid 40s overnight.
On Tuesday, we’ll see partly cloudy skies continue as that low continues up the coast. This northern movement will remove the chances for any more rain, but continued cloudiness will help keep temperatures down. Highs will reach the mid 60s, with overnight lows in the mid 40s again.
The low is going to take its time clearing out this week, but high pressure will slowly replace it as we get closer to the weekend. The early word on this weekend and the Richmond Folk Festival: awesome. Partly cloudy skies with highs in the 70s and lows near 50.
