Virginia Historical Society fixture sale going on RIGHT NOW

The Virginia Historical Society (VHS) is hosting a fixture sale of museum display cases and exhibition furniture on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Items used to showcase pieces in past VHS exhibitions and to house objects in storage will be for sale at up to 90% off fabrication prices.

The sale is free and open to the public. It will take place at the Virginia Historical Society, located at 428 North Boulevard in Richmond. Items will be on display from 10:00 a.m.­­ to 4:00 p.m.

Objects for sale include:

  • floor and wall cases
  • frames
  • object mounts
  • risers and pedestals
  • glass cubes
  • audio visual units
  • slide and negative sleeves
  • audio storage boxes
  • pamphlet files
  • office furniture and more

All sales are first come, first served on March 12. All objects will be sold as is. Anyone purchasing objects must provide their own labor and transportation. The pieces must be removed from the VHS by Thursday, March 13. Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted. No objects may be removed before payment. If applicable, tax certificates or tax-exempt numbers must be provided at the time of sale.
