Phase 1: Stores close April 3 at 6pm and reopen April 12 at 8am

Phase 2: Stores close April 10 at 6pm and reopen April 19 at 8am

And a note from the press release from MARTIN’S:
For each conversion phase, Ukrop’s exterior store signs will be removed every Monday between 8am and 12 noon. MARTIN’S signs will be installed by the close of business every Thursday.

I’m already rehearsing my speech to my mother, who will inevitably see this as a sign that it is the end of the world. She will go on to express startlingly intense hostility towards the company that staged a hostile takeover, to the detriment of that poor, pitiful Ukrop family.
I can’t wait to check out the beer selection. On a sunday. So that I can drown my nostalgia.
Do you think they will have rainbow cookies? Or should I stock up?
From what I heard, Ukrop’s will still be producing ready to eat food and selling it to martin’s. I.e. baked goods.
