Triple Crossing Brewery pouring pints today

Falcon Smash India Pale Ale, Element 79 Golden Ale, Liberty or Death Robust Porter and Single-Hop Saison will all be on tap.

Starting today at 12:00 PM, Richmond’s newest brewery Triple Crossing (113 S. Foushee St.) opens and will be ready to serve the thirsty folk of RVA.

Richmond BizSense gives a good sense of the business side of the venture.

What most of us are curious about is what the brewery will be serving. For that we turn to RTD and The Beer Guy who gives us a thorough run down of what to expect.

Falcon Smash, an India Pale Ale, intended to help establish the brewery’s identity, is double dry-hopped using predominantly Falconer’s Flight (a Pacific Northwest hop) for flavor and bitterness and Motueka (a New Zealand variety) for aroma. Alcohol content hovers around 7 percent by volume.<

IPAs are the hottest style in America now, and Triple Crossing wants to be a destination for RVA hopheads.

“There are some great local examples of IPAs,” Worcester said, “but I think there could be more. That’s what we’re all passionate about — the big dry hoppy beers,” Worcester said.

If hops aren’t your thing there will also be Element 79 Golden Ale, Liberty or Death Robust Porter and Single-Hop Saison. Element 79 looks to be a very sessionable ale with a low ABV of 4.5%.
