What does the bicycling future hold for RVA?
When Richmond was selected as the host of 2015 World Cycling Championship, 2015 seemed like it was so far away. Now that deadline is looming large. Since the announcement RVA hasn’t transformed itself into Portland East and to many eyes it doesn’t appear that any progress is being made. The truth of the matter that efforts are moving forward and this Wednesday the community has a chance to come together to talk about what needs to happen, what is happening, and what is already planned.
The meeting is at Richmond Bicycle Studio (1717 Summit Ave). There is a $15 registration fee for non HYPE members that includes light eats and craft beer from Isley Brewing Company.
HYPE and Sports Backers Presidents Council have teamed up to provide an informational download on Richmond’s growing bike culture and the infrastructure needed to support it. Race routes are out and The World Rides in Richmond!
Hear from the organizers of the 2015 World Cycling Championship and learn what it means for our region. Folks from Bike Walk RVA, Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, Richmond Cycling Studio, and the City will share exciting projects and initiatives designed to make RVA more bike friendly. With this much knowledge, biking the Capital Trail to Williamsburg on your fixed gear will be a breeze.
