GlobeHopper Coffehouse and Lounge is hosting a viewing of the movie Fresh, on February 17, and the opportunity to meet some of the farmers and producers from Fall Line Farms food co-op. The coffee shop is a pick-up point for Fall Line customers in Richmond’s East End. The film celebrates the people who are re-inventing and re-investing in our nation’s food system. It explores the current industrial model of farming and its consequences and suggests a refocus on a healthier and more sustainable option.

The film is at 6 pm and is free to the public. GlobeHopper is at 2100 E. Main Street.

Among several main characters, Fresh features urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur’s 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin, made famous by Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma; and supermarket owner, David Ball, challenging our Wal-Mart dominated economy
