Spring may be here, but winter is coming to Carytown Cupcakes

The cupcake shop, which was recently renovated, is celebrating the return of Game Of Thrones with special cupcakes and events.

In the harsh land of Westeros, there is a war being waged between the many kingdoms of the realm, all vying for control of the one and true throne. Amidst the violence and savagery, an unknown enemy is positioned to descend upon the many noble Houses, unleashing its fury on the unsuspecting people South of the Great Wall. Winter is coming.

Season 6 of the hit HBO show, Game of Thrones is set to premiere at the end of April. Carytown Cupcakes is transforming into one of the many intimate banquet halls of Kings Landing. There will be chalices, house flags, feast-style seating, faux fur, dragons eggs, Ravens, Viserys’ “Golden Crown” and of course, a real-life Iron Throne. Make sure to stop into the shop and pick up one of our themed cupcakes, including: the White Walker, The Mother of Dragons, the Red Wedding, the Jon Snow, Pigeon Pie and Grayscale.

Friday, April 22rd we will have an “unhappy” hour and trivia night. Starting at 5:00 pm we will have drink specials. We will also be selling limited-edition Game of Thrones beers from Ommegang Brewery. Trivia will start at 6:00 pm; there will be three rounds. Sign-ups will take place an hour before the event. Only teams of 4 or less can enter. Each round will have plenty of prizes!

Saturday, April 23rd we are hosting “A Feast for Crows” banquet. We will have a pop-up cart, straight from Season 5 with Arya Stark, and we’ll be selling not “oysters, clams and cockles” but rather, traditional food found in the world of Game of Thrones. The menu includes: Honey chicken drumsticks, “Lamprey” meat pies, Bacon-wrapped Figs and Cheese & Onion tarts. Everything will be a la carte. Each item will be $2 and every “Crow” who breaks bread with us will also be offered a FREE “Bowl of Brown.” There will be a limit of 1 of each of the items per person.
