Short Pump Mile & Express Fun Run rescheduled for November 8th

The area’s largest youth road race, held at Short Pump Town Center, was rained out last weekend.

Thanks to last weekend’s soggy weather, the annual Short Pump Mile & Express Fun Run at Short Pump Town Center was postponed.

Don’t despair, though–a new date has been set for the area’s largest youth road race. The event will now take place Sunday, November 8th.

Kids age 18 and under will have the opportunity to participate in a one-mile run, and kids age five and under can run in the 400 meter non-timed Fun Run. Every runner will receive a participation medal, shirt, and refreshments.

The first heat is at 7:45 AM, with the Fun Run leaving the starting gate at approximately 10:45 AM, according to organizers.

Packet pick-up will be available Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th.

Race officials say entries for previously registered runners will be transferred automatically from October 4th to November 8th. For those who haven’t registered and would like to participate in the race on November 8th, online registration will remain open until 8:00 PM on Monday, November 2nd. Fees for online registration are still $15 per runner or $13 per runner for a family registering three or more participants.

Proceeds from the race support NOVA’s outreach programs, which teach area kids to swim.
