Station 2 opens, Secco ‘pigs out’, Pescado takes over the White Anchovie, and more restaurant news

In this week’s restaurant news we have the opening of new restaurants, restaurants with a new lease on life, and restaurants that are offering specials and deals that will blow your stomach’s mind.

Station 2 is open at 2016 East Main Street with a burger menu that will blow you away. Let’s just say one RVANews team member has been there two times in a week. It’s hard to blame them, though, with adult milkshakes on the menu. Yes, that’s right, adult milkshakes. Menu located HERE.

On Monday August 29th, Secco is hosting Swine. Six chefs, six courses, one night, all pig. Chefs include Entoteca Sogno’s Lee Baedke, Comfort’s Jason Alley, Secco’s Tim Bereika, Rachel Disylvester, and Mike Braune, and The Rosevelt’s Lee Gregory. Tickets are $75 or $90 with wine pairings. Email your reservations to info@seccowinebar.com

The White Anchovie, the Far West End restaurant venture by Todd Manley, has changed its name to Ironfish by Pescados. Anyone who has eaten at either Pescados location knows that the food is incredible. With The White Anchovie seeing quite a few lackluster reviews, it looks like Manly is getting the new restaurant back on track with a menu more in line with his strengths.

It seems like everyone in town is beyond excited that Stella’s has opened. Well, folks, it gets better! They now have what they call Meze Ora, or Greek Happy Hour, from 4-6pm. There are lots of drink and food specials including carafe’s for $10.

Garnett’s Cafe, yes that delicious sandwich spot on the corner of Meadow and Park, is now offering a cheap date night. Available after 6pm, you can get two menu items and a bottle of wine for only $30! Cheap date night will only last until October 1st so move your caboose over there because you don’t want to miss out on that deal.
