The Mega Event returns to Kroger with lots of good deals (this week and next) – Buy any combination of 10 participating items and save $5 off your purchase at checkout. Plus, a note on a change to Kroger’s e-coupon policy.

A note for shoppers who use both e-coupons and paper (clipped or printed) coupons:

If you load coupons to your Kroger Plus card from Kroger.com, Cellfire.com, or any other e-coupon sites, it has become more important to keep track of which coupons you have loaded. Within the past month or two, Kroger updated its checkout systems to prevent the redemption of both an e-coupon and a paper coupon for the same item. While this has always been against their coupon policy (both are considered manufacturer’s coupons), the system did not previously restrict such “stacking” of coupons. Now when you scan your Kroger Plus card at the register, any relevant e-coupons will be deducted first and the machine will not accept paper coupons for those items, even if the paper coupons are higher value.

When purchasing 10 participating Mega Event items. You can load a $.55 e-coupon to your Plus card at Kroger.com, or use the $1 coupon from the 4/10 SmartSource insert.

Staples Top Pick

• Free pasta is back at Kroger!

Ronzoni Smart Taste or Healthy Harvest boxed pastas are only $.49 each after 10-item Mega Event savings. If you register with Ronzoni, you’ll be able to print “$1 off 2 boxes” coupons for each kind, making them free.

Snacks & Sweets Top Pick

• CLIF Crunch bars, ZBars or ZFruit Rope 5-6ct boxes $1.99 at Kroger after Mega Event savings.

Print a Mambo Sprouts coupon for $1 off boxes of ZBar or ZFruit.

Beverage Top Pick

• Propel Fitness water $.49 at Kroger when purchasing any 10 participating Mega Event items. If you have $1 off 2 coupon from 2/13 SmartSource insert, they are free.

Household Top Pick

• Oral-B Crossaction toothbrush $2.49 at Kroger when purchasing 10 participating Mega Event items.

Load a $1.50 e-coupon from Kroger.com to get it for $.99.
