RVA Deals

Our bargain-hunter bids farewell to the Ukrop’s circular (*sniff**sniff*) and fills us in on this week’s best deals, including great sales on deli meats, yogurt, and veg. Come take a look!

The Ukrop’s circular was missing from the Sunday paper this week; the last locations closed on Saturday to re-open next Monday as the final round of MARTIN’S stores. I heard a lot of comments from shoppers disappointed that MARTIN’S didn’t offer any “grand opening” special sales, but with the transition almost complete, there is still a chance the chain will observe a grand re-opening within the next week or two.

Next week’s column will have my strategies for frugal grocery shopping under the new MARTIN’S regime.

I know you covered it on the Richmond Bargains blog, but please don’t let people miss the BIG YARD SALE, this Saturday morning at the University of Richmond. It recycles the student cast-offs and benefits the local Sierra Club.
