RTD dines at My Noodle

Definitely in the running for undiscovered dining gem in RVA.

I dine out more than my waistline and budget should allow. As a result of my dining forays into the wilds of RVA occasionally I bump into a place that just feels right. The food appeals to tastebuds and wallet equally, while the staff makes me feel less like a patron and more like a friend dropping by for a bite to eat. My Noodle is one of those rare discoveries and I hope more people discover its charms.

RTD’s Dana Craig recently had a similar experience.

However, on My Noodle’s website, Kiatsuranon explains, “I want to entice your taste buds using select ingredients and my imagination,” promising “new creativity and bold, rich tastes.”

This translates into a reasonably priced range of noodle-based entrées and soups, most of which gently push the bounds of the expected.

I’m not saying My Noodle is reinventing the wheel, but after Kiatsuranon stopped by our table to chat, as he did with every table during our visit, we learned he’s excited about experimentation, getting people to love noodles and encouraging everyone to have a good time. After one conversation with him, it’s hard not to love his enthusiasm.

Not mentioned in the article which deserves another shout out is My Noodle Lab. Every Wednesday evening, Chef Joe will feature a test dish he has been conjuring up on the dinner menu. The dish is $10.50 (more for seafood) and you can get hints of what it will be on Facebook. If you want to get in on this experimental dish make sure you call and make a reservation at 804.308.1613.
